This can be either a dental inlay (fills center of tooth) or onlay (more extensive than an inlay and can cover up to the entire biting surface of a tooth).\n\nFillings are most commonly used to prevent further damage to a tooth when decay is present. Crowns, Bridges, Full and Partial Dentures<\/h4>\t\t\t\r\n\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\tA dental crown can cap an individual's damaged or decaying tooth or be placed on top of a dental implant to replace a missing tooth. Dental implants are metal fixtures, surgically fastened to your jawbone below the gums. These metal implants become anchored to your bone through osseointegration (the bone fuses to the metal). This process provides stable support you can rely on while eating and speaking. \n\n
Bridges, on the other hand, are solely used to replace missing teeth. They have two crowns \u2013 one on either end \u2013 or a bridge of replacement teeth that rest in the area of the gums where there is tooth loss. The crowns at the ends of a bridge can fuse to existing teeth (that need to be filed down by a dental professional to fit correctly), or your dental professional can attach them to dental implants.\n\n
Dentures are artificial teeth and gums that are formed to your mouth and created by your dentists to replace lost or removed natural teeth. Dentures can either be full or partial, meaning they can either replace all teeth on either the top or bottom gum line, or just a few that are missing.
